[American Football Recon Photographs]

125.00

An assembly of aerial snapshot views of American football games. Images capture static team formations, before the snap, from an aerial perspective, likely a press box, during 2 mid-1960's Bowling Green State University (OH) games. Similar photographs were commonly produced by college and professional teams, prior to the advent of inexpensive video recording, to study opponents and evaluate outcomes based on particular circumstances, personnel, plays, etc... The Polaroid format produces many uneven tones from its instant processing, disrupting the sameness of this unusual archive of pre-conflict views.

115 black and white Poloaroid instant prints. Loose. Uniform, each approximately 5" x 4 1/4." Each numbered in sequence with additional notations in ink to upper margins, outside of image areas. Ocassional, mild handling wear. Overall well preserved.
