An assortment of illustrated mailing flyers advertising the monthly programming of various North-Central Iowa first-run movie theatres: The Belmond Theatre, Windsor Theatre and Clarion Theatre.

Most (75 or 89) originate from Belmond; all from a single Belmond family (the Albert Strum's). Dating is concentrated heaviest on the 1960's and the contents break down as follows: 50 from 1958-1969 ; 32 from 1970-1973 ; 7 from 1946-1947.

Early 1960's and earlier flyers (approximately 25) letterpress printed, the later issues offset lithograph. The now-classic films of the eras listed, as would be expected and include frequent vignette illustrations. An evocative archive of rural marketing of American film.  

[Film] : [Advertising]. [Iowa Movie Theatre Flyers]. Iowa: 1946-1973. 89 single sheet card flyers with printing to rectos only. Several with scratch writing to versos, a few postmarked to versos. A few with moderate to heavy edgewear. Overall contents about good or better. With 5 duplicates (not included in the count of 89).
