BEBIDAS [Fifteen Year Run of Issues]

An unbroken run of an unrecorded Spanish language American trade magazine catering toward (as the cover subtitles typically read): "[...] las industrias bebidas gaseosas, cervecerias, destilerias y fabricas de vinos de la america latina." (or: "[...] the soft drink industries, breweries, distilleries and wine factories of Latin America.")

The run begins with the inaugural September-October 1942 issue (Vol 1., No. 1) and continues uninterrupted until November of 1956. Issues replete with illustrated period advertisements (frequently full-page, frequently in color), in-depth articles on advancements and developments in the industry, directories of U.S. businesses servicing the Latin-American beverage trade, recipes, and more....

The magazine appears to have remained in print since the premiere issue in 1942 and is now published under the imprint of Cleveland-based Global Beverages Publishers, Inc. Some difficult to ignore issues regarding humid storage, most noticeable in the later volumes, though a rich and scarce surviving periodical on the Latin American beverage industry in The United States.

[Latin-Americana] : [Food and Drink]. BEBIDAS MAGAZINE [Fifteen Year Run of Issues]. Chicago, Illinois: The Canterbury Press, (1942-1956). 8vos. Approximately 1.5 linear feet. 129 volumes bound as 14 in plain blue or black cloth over boards with gilt lettering to spines. Each sound, seemingly complete, though with some pervasive dampstaining and mild odor of must to most from humid basement storage. Some infrequent notation and clippings from contents. About good to good-plus only. More images seen here.
