[CD-ROM Clip Art and Image Archive]

225.00

An early 1990's archive of clip art and photographs, more than 20,000 high resolution images (each approximately 3MB). Likely the complete Corel Professional Photos Series, representing a massive digital record of design from the early 1990's.

[Photography] : [Design]. [Archive of CD-ROM Image Clip Art]. [Ottawa, Ontario]: Corel, 1993-1994. 221 CD-ROM discs. Each with 99 .PCD image files (approximately 375MB of data per disc / about 82GB total). Each in an original paper storage sleeve illustrated with he Corel logo. Discs about fine.

Archived print advertisements found in 1994 issues of PC MAG price the discs at approximately $30 each when new, making a group like this one prohibitively expensive to acquire and almost certainly uncommon. Library holdings generally seem to be limited to single discs, with OCLC showing several dozen matches from the group (generally each of those with only 1 to 3 examples held worldwide). A massive repository of images from the early age of proliferation of digital and internet design worthy of physical preservation and scholarship. A complete list of titles available upon request.
