A bright and clean example of the 26th Edition of the Stanely Francis Turner-illustrated "Dated Events War Map" series published by C.C. Peterson of New York. This copy issued shortly after V-E Day (and before the atomic bombing or Japanese surrender) with text promoting the Plum Brook Ordnance Works, a wartime munitions factory in Sandusky, Ohio. This edition with a known correction: an "8" stamped over an originally printed "9" below the bold red text heralding "VICTORY IN EUROPE" near the center of the sheet.

Printing credit appears to vary across this edition. The present copy was printed by Gettier-Montanye of Baltimore, while we note a comparable copy sold by Heritage in 2022 (for $990) with credit to Shaw-Barton of Coschocton, Ohio. A well preserved and bright copy of an uncommon map with association to an vital Wartime facility in Ohio and with market comps suggesting strong value in our price.
