A group of 12 original photographs documenting one exterior view and 11 interiors of a New Orleans "Doll Hospital." The only notated print identifies the storefront of the "Original Doll Hospital" at 513 Bourbon St. ca-1910 and we suspect the balance capture the businesses' later location at 2320 Magazine St.

The business was run by an Emile Voitier, who is pictured here extensively in the Hospital's workroom which an October 27, 1946 Times Picayune article described as "[...] like a surrealistic dream with legs, arms, torsos and heads dangling from hooks to dry."

[Photography]. [New Orleans Doll Hospital Photographs]. [New Orleans, Louisiana]: [ca. 1910-1946]. 12 loose photographs. 11 black and white, one color. Nine measure approximately 8" x 10" ; three measure from approximately 3 1/2" square to 5" x 7." Board mount of one photograph trimmed entirely away from borders. Two smaller photographs with trimmed edges. Tape remnants to versos of 8" x 10" enlargements. Overall group remains about good.
