OUR WOUNDED NEED HELP! [Original Propaganda Poster]

125.00

A boldly lettered propaganda poster from Wartime efforts to address nursing recruitment shortages. An uncommon survivor, lacking any of the prominent graphics which tended to result in individual preservation of these ephemeral War Department information campaign advertisements, though typographically rich and dense with information. A cursory google of the poster’s title seems to suggest it is more widely held, than the six copies recorded in OCLC, though its scarcity in commerce seems genuine.

[World War II] : [Propaganda Posters] : [Nursing]. OUR WOUNDED NEED HELP! [Original Propaganda Poster]. Washington, DC: Office of War Information, [ca. 1944]. Offset lithograph, two-color poster. Approximately 28" x 20." One vertical center fold and three horizontal folds from mailing. Text on campaign and mailing information (including addressee, a public library in Hillsboro, Indiana) to verso. Small area of discolor to lower right. Two, small closed tears at margins. Else attractive, about very good.
