[Photo Album of a Florida Hair Metal Band]

An album of snapshots documenting a small regional metal scene in south Florida circa-1990. More than 130 photographs (mostly cut scraps of larger snapshots) documenting practices, clubs, general hanging out, etc..., along with a few additional printed and hand-written paper scraps, suggest the album's focus is on a female-led group calling themselves Bad Asspex.

There are hints in the present contents suggesting the band played some sort of group show called "Core Wars" and may have performed at a venue called the "Power Station." A lone post from a current facebook group called "Brevard Graveyard" shares a flyer from a circa-1990 engagement at an Indiatlantic, Florida venue called The Hustler Bar where they were billed along with Attika and Bad Ambition, otherwise we are unable to locate anything in typical reference regarding the band or specific identification of its members. A massively endearing vernacular glimpse at women's contribution to, and the distinctive stylings of, the 1980's-90's hair metal scene.

[Photo Albums] : [Women in Music]. [Photo Album of a Florida Hair Metal Band]. [Brevard County, Florida]: [ca. 1990]. Commercial album. Approximately 11 1/2" x 10." Maroon vinyl over boards around a metal snap-ring binder assembly. holding about 15 adhesive thin card leaves with about 130 color photographs (one 8" x 10" print, whole snapshots, and cut portions of snapshots) mounted to rectos and versos. An additional 30 leaves blank. About very good.
