An engaging group of 65 original photographs documenting the environs of the 1964 NASCAR Dixie 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway centered around a free chicken dinner organized by the Tourist Division of the Georgia Department of Industry and Trade and commercially-sponsored by local Dodge Dealers, the Coca-Cola Co., Falstaff Beer, Colonial Bread, and Gordon Foods.

Images are roughly split between on-track action, grounds and spectator views, and scenes of the promotion and execution of the "FREE CHICKEN Q" (as its identified in oft-pictured handmade signage). A broad and vivid photographic glmpse at an early staging of an important Atlanta-area NASCAR event with an added, integral, and engaging element of southern food and hospitality interest.

65 black and white silver gelatin print photographs. Loose. Each approximately 8" x 10" single weight bordered prints. Some mild curling at extreme edges, occasional and scattered foxing to versos. Overall about very good.
