RACE, RACISM, AND AMERICAN LAW [Scarce First Edition]

$300.00

Arguably the most influential work on race and American law of the 20th Century and the foundational text of critical race theory (CRT). Authored during Derrick Bell’s time at Harvard, RACE, now in its 6th Edition, has become an essential casebook in American legal education. Exceedingly scarce to find in this first 1973 edition.

BELL, Derrick A., Jr. : [African-Americana] : [Law]. RACE RACISM AND AMERICAN LAW. Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1973. First Edition. 1087pp. 9 1/2" x 7." Red cloth over boards. Gold ink ruling, titles, and 2 black ink bands to spine. Blindstamped publisher's logo to front. No dust jacket, as issued. Upper board corners lightly bumped, small white blemish to cloth at right edge. Faint dampstain at lower corner of page edge. Volume sound, unmarked. Cloth and spine ink unusually bright and clean. Very good-plus. First printing with no statement of edition or later printing.
