A Depression-era school project on science by a Fay E. Ring (b. 1925) during their 8th grade year in the small New Hampshire city of Franklin. About 80 pages are divided into four units titled by cut paper lettering: Astronomy, Weather, Health, and Care of the Body. The book is replete with original illustrations, maps, charts, etc... forming an elaborately crafted and engaging vernacular textbook on science.

RING, Fay E. : [Scrapbooks] : [Science] : [Space]. SCIENCE [Interior Title - Handmade School Project Book on Astronomy, Meteorology, and Human Anatomy]. [Franklin, New Hampshire]: (ca. 1940). Commercial album, approximately 14 1/2" x 12 1/2." Green vinyl over thin boards, string-bound through two posts at left margin. 40 brown paper leaves with leaves of construction paper in various colors mounted to rectos and versos bearing manuscript text and drawings, illustrated clippings, various cut paper maps, diagrams, figures, etc... Mild general handling wear to exterior including a bit of pronounced upward creasing through contents at lower right hand corner. Mild flaking from page edges. At least three pages with contents entirely perished, another possibly with a missing article. Overall well preserved and mostly intact ; about very good.
