[Tractor Pull Snapshots]

50.00

An assembly of 11 different views of a September 6, 1975 tractor pull event. Place not explicitly identified, though likely Ohio given area of acquisition by us, scenery, and the shirt of one of the officials (which seems to be designed with the logo of an Ohio sanctioning body).

Clear vernacular views captured from fan-level, in the stands, with period clothing, tractor styles and competition on display. A shot of a plume of black smoke emitting from a competing rig captures the roots of the practice of "rolling coal," a modification to diesel trucks which covers the road in black smoke, usually done when passing a Toyota Prius, adopted by Midwestern and Southern custom-truck enthusiasts.

[Photography] : [Tractor Pulls]. TRACTOR PULL IRON HORSE STABLES [Manuscript Outer Title - Envelope of Snapshot Photographs]. [Ohio]: 1975. 11 color snapshot photographs. Drugstore prints. In original processor's envelope. Each approximately 5" x 3 1/2." Envelope with some mild handling wear. Prints about fine with dates and a series of numbers in ink to versos.
