An unrecorded internal American military publication on definitive aspects of the Vietnam War: A mimeograph instructor's guide to a course taught to members of the United States Army's 25th Infantry Division as part of its Jungle and Guerrilla Warfare Training Center at the Special Asian Warfare Training and Orientation Center at Schofiled Barracks on Oahu.

The guide consists of nearly 300 pages providing comprehensive instruction on jungle warfare, guerrilla warfare, survival, etc... with generous illustrations throughout. Specific mentions of aircraft, including the H-21 Shawnee and Bell UH-1 helicopters seem to place publication in about 1962-1964. Sections seem to be divided into separate classes on subjects including aerial resupply and evacuation, mountaineering, jungle first aid and hygiene, shelters and field crafts, edible and poisonous plants, communist guerrilla operations, counter guerrilla operations, ambush and counter-ambush, crossing water obstacles, land navigation, compass navigation, and jungle tactics.

Upper paper wrapper panel with stenciled illustration above the title "MANUSCRIPTS." 159 paper leaves with mimeograph printed type and illustrations to rectos and most versos. Some mild toning to contents, a bit of insect damage lower corners of first few leaves. Overall well preserved and about good-plus.
