[Seven Issues of the GAY STUDIES NEWSLETTER with Miscellaneous Organizing Materials]

$250.00

A collection of seven early issues of the GAY STUDIES NEWSLETTER along with six pages of printed organizing material from the formative years of the Modern Language Association''s (MLA) Gay Caucus. Highlights include three pages of extensive hand notations to Volume 2, No. 1, a circa-1975 organizing broadsheet petitioning members to acquire signatures for official recognition by the MLA Board of Directors, etc....

A series of name changes for the publication makes parsing library records challenging, though it appears that outside of Duke, which holds the Caucus archive, surviving copies of these early issues are exceedingly scarce.
